The Solar Charger from Torqeedo makes the electric outboards very unique; Torqeedo are the first to offer an electric outboard motor that is able to run solely on renewable energy.
The Solar Charger will not only charge the Ultralight 403, Travel 503 and Travel 1003 but it will also run direct from the solar energy too!
In North America and Europe you could expect to run direct from the panel traveling at 2.2mph using a Travel or 2.5mph using the Ultralight. The panel weighs only 2.8 lbs and is 58 x 36 inches unfolded (39.4 x 6.3 inches folded).
Charging
The 320 Wh battery of Ultralight and Travel 503 models will be charged in 8 hours from 0 to 100%; the 520 Wh battery of the Travel 1003 models will be charged in 13 hours from 0 to 100%. These times are assuming you are charging only.
The solar panel has been fully tested and is waterproof; even in salt water.
Mounting the solar charger
Easy to mount - one click connects your Torqeedo outboard to the sun.
The unfolded solar panel is to be secured with lines. Use the grommets in the panel for this purpose.
The solar charger achieves the highest efficiency if it is mounted in a right angle towards the sunlight.
